The Shxwtà:selhawtxw Interpretive Centre
You are invited to visit us at the Shxwtà:selhawtxw Interpretive Centre, also known as the House of Long Ago and Today.  We offer a unique hands-on and interactive approach to experiencing how the Stó:lō lived in the ancient past and how we live today. You will be guided by Stó:lō cultural interpreters who will tell stories and legends, demonstrate the art and technology of today and the past, and explain the artifacts and exhibits on display.

The Coqualeetza Longhouse
As a part of your tour, visit the Coquleetza Longhouse. The longhouse serves as a sanctuary for Stó:lō traditions, knowledge and ceremonies. It is an important site for community gatherings, celebrations and ceremonies. Your tour of the longhouse can include songs with the Stó:lō hand drum, sxowxiyám and sqwelqwel – the stories of long ago and today, performances, and even a traditional game of Slahal. The purpose of the longhouse is to be a true community education building where the Stó:lō nation and Stó:lō neighbors can experience and learn about the Stó:lō culture.

The Stó:lō Ethnobotanical Garden
The Ethnobotanical Garden features many of the important foods and medicinal plants that Stó:lō used in the past and still use today. The serene pond and garden mimic the natural landscape of the Stó:lō people.  It is a peaceful and welcome area that sits alongside the Coqualeetza Longhouse. There is an informational display that serves as its entranceway.
